Military Tensions Erupt With Putin: United States

 

                


 

White House spokeswoman Kate Bedingfield said the United States had information that Russian President Vladimir Putin was being misled by his country's military. Kate claims that this has led to "constant tensions" between Putin and his military leadership. News from the BBC.

 


                                                                 



In a statement, Kate Bedingfield claimed that the attack on Ukraine was a strategic mistake for Putin, which has weakened Russia in the long run and continues to isolate itself on the world stage.

 

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby called the assessment "uncomfortable." "You know how a leader who doesn't know how to react to bad news," he said of Putin.

 


                                                                       



Jeremy Fleming, head of the UK's cyber intelligence agency GCHQ, on the other hand, said Russia had a "massive misunderstanding" of the situation and had been forced to reconsider significantly.

 

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the attack on Mariupol would be stopped only if Ukrainian troops surrendered. He made of  the remarks in a telephone of the conversation with French to President Emmanuel Macron.

 


                                                                     



Meanwhile, French officials say Putin has agreed to a plan to evacuate civilians trapped in Mariupol.
