US search engine giant Google is bringing new features to make their video communication service Google Meet the calling experience easier. Google the currently of generates URLs to the invite users to of video calls. However, the company will soon allow users to join the call without having to create or share any type of meeting URL.
The company said that the Google Meet Calling feature is being introduced to provide a more spontaneous meeting experience in the personal or workplace. The technology giant in the US will first launch a Gmail app to connect users with chat options. Sanaj Ahari, a senior director at Google's product management division, said that with the launch of this feature, users who are using Gmail apps on their mobile phones will see a ring like a phone call.
On the other hand, call chips will be sent to
laptop users. According to a report, users will soon see video and phone
buttons for video and audio calls. By clicking the phone button, users can join
the call without deleting the video. In addition to the calling feature from
Gmail, Google has announced a new update to the upcoming Companion mode. In
Companion mode, users will have the opportunity to use the second screen.
