Scanda Handley was at home with a 14-year-old girl and a neighbor. At that time, two young men in blue uniforms appeared in disguise as sellers. They wanted to show Scanda using a carpet cleaner. But when he agreed, the two young men took out their weapons and forced their way into the house.

The kidnappers picked up Scanda Handley in a van, tying up the girl and her neighbor. The kidnappers were recruited by her husband, Lawrence Michael Handley. They have been apart for some time.

According to the plan, Scanda will be picked up from Los Angeles and brought to Lawrence Handley's dormitory in Woodville. However, it is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. According to Lawrence's lawyer, he wanted to be a hero by dramatically 'rescuing' him from his captors in order to win his wife's heart.

On August 6, 2016, when the kidnappers were fleeing in a van, the police noticed the vehicle. They became suspicious when they saw the shaking inside the van. Police tried to stop the car.

The two abductors, Sylvester Bressi and Arsenio Hynes, fled the main road and took to the gravel road. But there was no chance to move forward in front of the road. Sylvester and Arsenio got out of the car and jumped over the canal to escape the police. But the end was not saved. They drowned and died.

Lawrence Handley, 53, pleaded guilty in court on Monday after nearly four years. The former successful businessman could face up to 15 to 35 years in prison on three charges. The verdict in the case has not been announced yet.

Lawrence achieved success through the business of software and vitamin supplements. He is also the chief executive of several drug rehabilitation centers. He sold the business in 2015 for 21 million.

After that the final unrest began in the marital life. The couple tied the knot in 2006. Divorce application was filed in 2016.

Both husband and wife accused each other of attempted murder. According to Lawrence, the wife tried to hire a super killer to kill him. On the other hand, the wife complained that the husband tried to install spyware on the computer including tracking his phone.

However, case documents show that Lawrence sent multiple messages threatening his wife before the abduction.

According to Lawrence Handley's lawyer, his client has long been addicted to drugs. He said Lawrence became addicted to meth and cocaine while planning to kidnap his wife. Lawrence plans to win his wife's heart and get her back, or to 'rescue' her from her captors dramatically.

"Of course it's not reasonable. But it seemed reasonable to him when he was addicted to meth and cocaine. But in the end it brought terrible consequences," said his lawyer.

Scanda Handley, 50, said in an interview on Thursday, "I hope the court will sentence him to 35 years in prison.
